During the scamdemic, many a working age family moved to Arizona to escape whatever was bedeviling them at home and bought a house in the middle of a desert. I believe for many of them, "they know not what they do" applied and now they face a possible mass exodus to ... where, exactly? People escaping and in extremis tend to make poor decisions. We may all be in this or a similar situation before too long as the center will not hold.

A world made by hand

Series of books by James Howard Kunstler.

Both fiction and non fiction.

He specializes in post apocalyptic scenarios.

Strange I never see him on CT sites.

Yes there are professionals but the majority are sincere in their deprivations.

Average price of a new car is $45,000. Molded plastic, no more steel for you! Designed to wear out fast, they all look alike, and full of spyware. Gimme a'67 Mustang anytime over these overpriced turkeys.

Someone on another thread mentioned a return to the dark ages, with barons, dukes, czars, a viscounts, you get the drift...enforcers to kick ass whenever the peasants dare shoot a rabbit for food in the forest. That is actually what they intend to set up after 6 billion drop dead from whatever.

They are just getting warmed up.

Lots of used cars can sell for more than the original sticker price.

I have no idea how young people "get by" nowadays, unless they have really high-paying jobs.
Everything is so expensive.
So far there are no tent cities around here. People living in their cars? Maybe.
I saw beggars last year at the grocery store parking lot. Children.
On the other hand, I've also heard that professional beggars make a good living by panhandling.

How can anyone afford a car? $30,000 is way too much for a new car. I'd argue $10,000 is too much.

There really should be a small barebones car that costs less than $10k new for the poor and first-time car buyers.

It doesn't have to be a full-sized car. A little two-seater with a trunk for groceries would work. Instead they build these over-complicated monstrosities with unecessary electronics. Back-up cameras. Heated seats. Satellite radio. GPS. A car doesn't need all of that. A car doesn't even need electronics at all. Just make something that drives.

IMO it's not that they don't get it, it's that they're designing the NWO to be a global neofeudal empire with two social classes: the haves and have nots. The rich will own everything and be happy, the poor will own nothing and will say they're happy or they'll be dealt with.

Travel to small towns across the country and see the sea change..
Here in the South, houses and stores are abandoned on what used to be Main Street.
When farm owners die, their children often sell what used to cow pastures to developers. It's called "progress," building  subivisions of McMansions and-or large apartment buildings. .
The economy is tanking, yet I see jobless young men everywhere, with Hondurans and Guatemalans doing all the construction.
Twilight Zone time.

Hit the road, Jack, rents are soaring with no end in sight. Those who still own homes to be overrun by millions of desperate, starving vagrants.
