Oh I think the Fed has a credibility problem. Yes I do.

They raised rates by 0.5% but increased interest on reverse repo operations by 1%.

If you've heard about reverse repo being over 1 trillion dollars every day? It's because our financial institutions are parking their money there to get collateral to balance thier books. Now by parking their money in reverse repo overnight, they get 1% interest. Which is more than the 0.5% rate hike.

Expect reverse repo to exceed 2 trillion dollars, very soon.

This is not a sound economy. This economy is very ill.

Experts now predict a mild recession.

The recession will be mild, people. There is no reason to panic.

MINNEAPOLIS — Economists from Deutsche Bank issued a report this week projecting a potential "mild recession" in the United States starting late 2023 into early 2024, arguing that monetary policy to fight inflation will shrink the economy.

Congress just passed a law stating that congressmen can't own stocks. It's insider trading.

This is exactly when they sold.

Aren't you happy that our congressmen have such strong moral fiber?

Like off in the distance. Like a roaring sound? Is it getting louder?

Ah, nevermind. I'm sure everything will be fine.

Gross domestic product unexpectedly declined at a 1.4% annualized pace in the first quarter, marking an abrupt reversal for an economy coming off its best performance since 1984, the Commerce Department reported Thursday.

The negative growth rate missed even the subdued Dow Jones estimate of a 1% gain for the quarter. GDP measures the output of goods and services in the U.S. for the three-month period.

A plethora of factors conspired to weigh against growth during the first three months of 2022, which fell off a cliff following the 6.9% gain to close out last year.
